Documenting Rainbow Warrior's trip to to raise awareness about environmental issues
Overview
The Rainbow Warrior website is a one page campagin and NGO project aiming to spread the news about the arrival of the new Rainbow Warrior ship that Greenpeace crowdfunded in 2011.

Users were able to register to the website using their Facebook and Twitter accounts. By participating, they would join a virtual ship as a crew member and post a unique link containing information about the event on their feed. The post also showed a CTA asking their friends to join the ship as a crew member. As people would join the crew via the link, users would get promoted to a higher rank.

As the users scrolled down the site, they would learn more about the ship’s history, specifications, current whereabouts, and a breakdown of all current crew members.

Once registered, users would join the ship as an apprentice. As they invited more members, users would get promoted to engineers, sailors, officers, and finally captains. At the end of the campaign, the captains would have the chance to board the actual ship. Users followed their progress through their profile page.
